Lynsted Park

A&L Wedding

A&L’s perfect September wedding, was a beautiful example of ‘less is more’.  Dahlia’s were picked from Lynsted Park’s garden for bouquets and the ceremony gazebo was festooned with ivy and climbing foliage collected from the old Tudor walls – A&L making the very most of nature, in keeping with their conservationist credentials.  Wearing beaming smiles and silk dresses of the prettiest forest green A’s two bridesmaids led the way  from the Peacock Room, in the house, to the outdoor wedding ceremony.  The Bride, in her stunning lace and satin gown, swept down the main staircase and glided out into the garden with her proud father alongside.  L looking equally gorgeous in a suit of blue, waited patiently with his very dapper ushers.  After a perfect ceremony, drinks and canapés on the front lawn allowed guests to mingle and celebrate as photographs were effortlessly taken by the very talented Mr Chris Blackledge. The traditional marquee from the ever popular, Best in Tents, was dressed in handmade bunting and freshly picked flowers; it radiated … ‘quintessential English-country-wedding’. Guest made their way, prosecco in hand, to the reception marquee from the front lawn.  As guests dined on the finest Kentish beef followed by chocolate torte,  they were frequently heard murmuring how absolutely delicious it all was – well done to Suzie McCully and her team for her extraordinarly good food.  The wedding breakfast was accompanied by some of the funniest speeches ever heard at a wedding and our bar staff had frequently to suppress their giggles as the two bestmen brilliantly narrated their anecdotes.  A super-talented friend sang, guitar in hand, igniting the party into full swing.  Friends and family danced the night away on a permanently-packed dance floor, our thanks to the ever-reliable AudioCrew of Canterbury for the sound equipment.   A really quite considerable number of drinks flowed from the Lynsted Park bar till the last tune ended – our thanks to the busy LP bar staff.   Finally, a huge thank you to the wonderful couple and their totally charming family and friends for creating a magical day. We so enjoyed having the bride and her family and friends to stay the night before and were delighted to have A&L with us for their wedding night.  The big family breakfast that followed the next morning was an honour for us to host.  We wish you every happiness for the future and so hope you enjoy your time in America. With love and thanks from us all at Lynsted Park.
